Eli Lilly & Company tasked our UW design team to envision and prototype forward-thinking approaches for health care. Our solution, PaintAR, is a tool that leverages body mapping in mixed reality to communicate, manage, and improve the outlook of chronic pain.
The future of health is value based care, where individuals are empowered through their health care options. PaintAR fits seamlessly, offering a suite of plug-ins for different approaches to pain management. Our system is designed to be built upon to create even better, more personalized treatment for individuals with chronic pain.
With PaintAR, there is no artistic skill needed. Users can directly manipulate their paints to capture the breadth and intensity of pain. Through this tactile and Intuitive painting experience, users are equipped with a visual language system for representing chronic pain.
At its core, the mobile interface hinges on empowering the user. PaintAR offers personalization via charts, reminders, & monthly reports; a variety of modules for treatment include meditation, massage, and acupuncture. We reinforce privacy of personal data, yet allow share-ability so users can easily communicate their pain record when necessary.
